Hello, I’m Havana clark, founder of Havana’s house animal rescue. Over the course of my 13 years on this planet my family and I have had many pets. Including chickens, cats, dogs, rabbits, and a turkey. Some of These pets have been rescued including three of the cats, one of the rabbits, and three of the dogs. Tom the turkey is not technically a rescue although we sometimes think of her as one. Animals play a big part of my day-to-day life. Especially the birds. We often go to the vet with a chicken or some other sort of “farm animal”. Just yesterday one of the silky chickens was attacked by a hawk and I saw some of the attack happening in the yard so I ran outside, scared the hawk away, got the chicken inside, and started crying because I thought she was going to die. I also prayed for her a lot. And God answered my prayer because now she is doing fine.
I called my mom who called the vet to schedule an appointment with our regular that vetinarian but because they were booked out was referred to another veterinary clinic. They found some wounds from the hawks talons and supplied us with some ointment for the wounds. The chicken snowflake, is doing all right although she is still significantly stressed from the whole hawk episode.
